  ContRay® can be installed and run on every
  web server with Perl/CGI support.

• Integrated Database
  ContRay® does not need a separate database! ContRay® keeps the content of the site separated from the layout in an internal database.

• Multi-User-System
  All websites and areas of the website can be protected with different user accounts (username:password). This is sensible if several users are responsible for different areas of the website.

• Multilingual administration
  An external language file allows you to use ContRay® in any language (currently available language sets are English and German).

• Export
  The system generates static HTML pages. (Important for the search engines!)

• Statistics
  The PlugIn for analyzing the log file shows how many hits your website has had, which IP numbers the visitors had and which pages have been visited.

• Online Help System

• Rich-Text-Editor
  The Rich-Text-Editor makes it possible to edit contents similar to a word processing tool. The features of the editor can be modified in a separate file.

• Page browser
  The page browser can be used for quick jumping between the different directories and records.

• Hidden Items
  Items can be marked as "hidden". These items do not appear in the navigation, but they can be linked to produce (for example) an acknowledgement page for an email script.

• Backup/Restore
  With the backup/restore feature any state of your website can be saved. You can create as many backups as you like. Before restoring a backup it can be previewed to make sure it is the right one.

• Media Browser
  The media browser with its preview feature allows for easy handling of media files on the website (Images, PDF files etc.).

• Linking
  The integrated link feature to internal and external records/web pages gives the user the ability to embed static webpages, internet services or applications (for example to use ContRay® in Intranets). Links can be opened in the same or in a new window. The extended link manager makes it possible to link external pages and has an integrated link check for the "Delete" feature.

• Staging
  ContRay® contains a separated Working- and Live-System. It is very comfortable, especially with large sites, to change pages in a "test area" and release them for the online version only after viewing them in demonstration mode. Only the system administrator can release pages, which means it is easy to verify content before it is put online.

• Dynamic Navigation - Multilevel
  The navigation is created automatically. The navigational elements can be created with HTML templates and be spread amongst as many branches as needed.

• Backward Navigation (Navigational Path)
  Allows easy navigating in complex web pages (Home/.../.../...).

• Search
  With the search module the whole site can be searched for certain keywords. The output can be modified in an HTML template.

• Sitemap
  The dynamic, automatic sitemap makes it possible to find information quickly on large websites with many subcategories. The output can be modified in an HTML template.

Functions for web designer

• Different layouts
  All input and output areas can be designed to your individual needs with HTML templates. The system supports all common template programming languages (HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, StyleSheets, XML etc.). The HTML templates can even be created with web tools like Macromedia Dreamweaver, Netobjects Fusion, Macromedia Homesite or Microsoft Frontpage.

• Integrated site management system
  ContRay® contains a complete site management system, which automatically integrates the navigation into the web page (no more "dead links"). The navigational elements can be designed at will; text- and image links can be used.
